Feiyue’s Human MT is an ELISA reagent for detection of MT in serum, plasma or with sensitivity, specificity and consistency.Human MT(Melatonin) IntroducitonMelatonin is a hormone primarily released by the pineal gland at night, and has long been associated with control of the sleep–wake cycle. As a dietary supplement, it is often used for the short-term treatment of insomnia, such as from jet lag or shift work, and is typically taken orally. Evidence of its benefit for this use, however, is not strong. A 2017 review found that sleep onset occurred six minutes faster with use, but found no change in total time asleep. In animals, melatonin plays an important role in the regulation of sleep–wake cycles. Human infants' melatonin levels become regular in about the third month after birth, with the highest levels measured between midnight and 8:00 am. Human melatonin production decreases as a person ages. Also, as children become teenagers, the nightly schedule of melatonin release is delayed, leading to later sleeping and waking times.Human MT(Melatonin) ELISA Kit Test methodThis kit was based on Competitive-ELISA detection method. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with target. During the reaction, target in the sample or standard competes with a fixed amount of target on the solid se supporter for sites on the Biotinylated Detection Antibody specific to target. Excess conjugate and unbound sample or standard are washed from the plate, and HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then TMB substrate solution is added to each well. The enzyme -substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm. The concentration of target in the samples is then determined by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
