TUBING HEAD

1.Tubing head construction

The tubing head is usually a large four-way with flanged ends，which is mounted on the upper flange of the casing head to hang the tubing string and seal the annular space between the tubing string and the reservoir casing. It is composed of tubing head and tubing hanger.

2. Function of tubing head

(1) Hang tubing string in well

(2) Seal annular space of tubing and casing

(3) Provide transition for the connection of lower casing head and upper tree

(4) Casing injection and well washing are completed through two side openings on the four-way body of the tubing head

3. Tubing hanger

Tubing hanger is a device that supports tubing string and seals the annular space between tubing and casing. The sealing method of tubing hanger is that the tubing hanger is connected with the tubing, and by using the gravity of the tubing, it is seated in the four-way tubing head so that the space is sealed. Tubing hanger is easy to operate, and it is fast and safe to replace the wellhead. Therefore, it is commonly used in medium and deep wells and conventional wells.
