Application
Polarized light interference is adopted to observe and analyze the internal stress of transparent plastic and glass products .
For transparent glass products , Senarmont method is also used to measure the internal stress precisely.
At the moment , this instrument is widely used for quality control and quality improvement within transparent plastic and glass products .

Testing methods
Sensitive Color
When the scale compass is at 0 degreeï¼the entire viewing field is orange . This is called the sensitive color. Put the sample onto the polarizer, the part with stress will be light white or grayish black, different from the background color. The part without stress will be orange, the same as the background color.
2. Senarmont
Internal stress of glass products can be measured precisely under this method . Turn on the power, the entire viewing field is dark brown when the scale compass is at 0°. Put the sample onto the polarizer, focus on the brightest spot in the viewing field .That's where the maximum stress exists. Rotate the scale compass on the analyzer until the brightest point turns dark brown, record the rotation angle of the scale compassl . The stress value will be calculated through a formula .
