Entacavir Tablets(X-vir)

X-VIR  is used for: X-VIR is used to treat long-term hepatitis B infection. Hepatitis B is an infection of the liver caused by the hepatitis B virus. Long-term infection can cause liver damage, rarely liver cancer, and liver failure. IN X-vir Entecavir salt is used,  Entecavir helps to decrease the amount of hepatitis B virus in your body. It is unknown if this medication lowers your chance of getting liver cancer or liver damage. Entecavir is an antiviral that belongs to a class of drugs known as hepatitis B virus nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Entecavir is not a cure for hepatitis B. It does not prevent the spread of the virus to others through sexual contact or blood/body fluid contamination (such as sharing used needles). Treating HBV infection in certain patients. Entecavir is a nucleoside analogue. It works by reducing the amount of HBV in the blood. It also helps prevent the HBV from multiplying and infecting new liver cells. Do NOT use entecavir if: You are allergic to any ingredient in entecavir You have HIV infection and you are not receiving HAART Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you. Important safety information: Entecavir may cause dizziness. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use entecavir with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. Entecavir does not stop you from spreading HBV to others through sexual contact, sharing needles, or being exposed to your blood. Use barrier methods of birth control (eg, condoms) if you have HBV infection. Talk with your doctor about safe sexual practices that protect your partner. Never share needles or other injection supplies. Do not share personal items that may have blood or body fluids, such as toothbrushes or razors. There is a vaccine that protects at-risk people from HBV infection.  Do not change the dose without your doctor's examination.  Entecavir does not cure HBV infection. Stay under the care of your doctor.  If the supply of medicine is insufficient, get more medicine from your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. Do not stop taking entecavir, even for a short time. If you do this, the virus may become resistant to the drug and become more difficult to treat.  Laboratory tests, including liver and kidney function, and HIV and HBV antibodies, may be performed several months after you use entecavir and after discontinuation of entecavir. These tests can be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep an appointment with all doctors and laboratories.  Elderly people use entecavir with caution; they may be more sensitive to their effects.  Pregnancy and breastfeeding: If you are pregnant, please contact your doctor. You need to discuss the benefits and risks of taking entecavir during pregnancy. It is not known whether this drug is found in breast milk. Do not breastfeed when taking entecavir.
