Specifications
A multi-wavelength colorimeter, covering the range of 320 to 950 nanometres with accuracy at 420 nm for sugar colour determinat.
The SUMA TALAMETERMW is a multi-wavelength colorimeter, covering the range of 320
to 950 nanometres. The accuracy has been optimised at 420 nanometres for sugar colour
determinations by ICUMSA methods. It has been developed for use throughout the whole
of the sugar industry, especially where there is a need for frequent as well as accurate
analyses in the quality control laboratory.
The SUMA TALAMETERMW has been designed such that it is versatile, whilst still
retaining the simplicity in use of the former TALAMETERS. A fully automated calibration
routine is initiated when the instrument is switched on, with regular zeroing being carried
out by the depressing of a single button. The display of milli absorbance units has a
resolution of 1 mau, with an accuracy of better than 2% of reading at 420 nanometres. The
instrument is manufactured to the highest quality standards using state-of-the-art
technologies. All controls and selections are made, using easy to clean, tactile membrane
switches. The carriage is designed to accommodate cells of up to 10 centimetres in length
and is easily removable for cleaning.
Being a multi-wavelength spectrophotometer, the TALAMETERMW can be used for any
other analyses that use photometric techniques. These include the ICUMSA methods for
Turbidity and determinations of the levels of Arsenic, Copper, Dextran, Formaldehyde,
Iron, Lead, Phosphate and Sulphite in sugar solutions and liquors, the determination of low
levels of sugars in waters using the Molisch Test and many others both in and outside of
the sugar industry.
The SUMA TALAMETERMW has full interfacing capability for analogue and serial digital
(RS232) outputs. The optical system is independently housed and isolated with lenses to
give maximum environmental protection.
